Dalby to Roma - Update from Ilfracombe (20 minutes from Longreach)

Rain, rain go away. Come again another day.

A long day traveling from Dalby to Roma saw us make the trip in 4 hours. The girls have been excellent in the car. Singing, reading and playing with the billion toys that are in there.

We booked in at the Big Rig Tourist Park and as we were there for only one night left the caravan hooked on. It was raining so the girls played in the puddles while we set up and then we went for a look in town. Unfortunately nothing was open because of the rain it seems it doesn’t take much to shut things down out here. I certainly wouldn’t want to come out in the wet season.
It is pretty cold at night at the moment and Greg is even wearing a beanie and he wants to look for gloves in the next town! During the night we have been putting the reverse cycle air conditioner on and it warms the whole van up nicely, sometimes it is too hot.

We decided to go for a walk to tire the girls out after being in the car for so long. Luckily it didn’t rain too much on the way. We happened to come across Roma’s biggest bottle tree.

Had intended to go to Carnarvon Gorge next but the rain has closed the roads and the National Parks so headed to Springsure.
